Why do fireflies glow?

Outgoing corruption on earth a firefly glow, you'll see on the ground leaving a trail, which continued to flicker, then fade and then lost. Thus, light emitted by fireflies is the product of a chemical process, rather than biological processes.
Because, after the insects were dead but still light, it is clear that the animals only on duty continuously generate the type of light only.

Two groups are fireflies firefly firefly's flight and ground beef. Both groups are able to emit light with a special cold, not heat as artificial light. This is because during the light, almost the entire energy is converted into solar creatures, not consume into heat as in the other artificial light sources.
Firefly's light is emitted from the burning end of some kind. During the day, the only burning white-gray, the new night light fantastic through the skin throughout. Inside the belly skin is a series of fluorescent cells, the cells with a reflective layer, which functions as the mirror to help reflect light out.
The fluorescent cells contain two types of the luciferin and luciferaza. When separated, they are just ordinary chemicals, no luminescence. But when next to each other, men will luciferaza catalyst to promote oxidation of luciferin (the process of using oxygen to burn luciferin). Oxidation generates optical energy.
Fireflies that glow only flicker but not continuous, because they automatically control the supply of oxygen, so that the light response are long-term performance.
